What Is the New Earth?

An artistic vision of New Earth: cyberpunk people, including a person with a robotic leg, cooperate with humanoid robots in a green city filled with water, flowers and workshops.

New Earth is a direction we choose

New Earth is not a prophecy, a ready-made place or an event for which we are meant to wait passively. It is a consciously chosen direction for human and civilisational development. A direction in which technology serves life, the economy meets real needs without destroying the planet, and people build communities based on cooperation, responsibility, free will and mutual support.

We do not claim that one day we will wake up in a world that has repaired all its problems by itself. New Earth comes into being when vision is joined with action. First, we name what we truly want. Then we design solutions, test them, improve them and connect them into an increasingly complete whole.

In this sense, New Earth is not an escape from reality. It is a decision not to automatically accept present limitations as final. Not every boundary can be crossed immediately, but every one of them can be examined honestly. Not everything we imagine will prove possible. Without imagination, however, nothing genuinely new will ever be created.

A good life cannot be a privilege

The simplest question of New Earth is this: how can we organise the world so that every person has a real opportunity to live with dignity?

This means a safe home, good food, clean water, healthcare, knowledge, rest and the presence of other people. Not as a reward for submitting to a particular ideology, but as the foundation from which a person can begin to regain agency and contribute something of their own to the community.

Help should not end with handing over keys or transferring money. A person may have a roof over their head and still remain lonely, lost and disconnected from life. That is why relationships, opportunities to learn, appropriate treatment, a sense of meaning and a place where one can be needed without humiliation or coercion are also essential.

Long-term research into human development points to a strong connection between the quality of close relationships and health and well-being. This is an important indication: we do not measure an advanced civilisation only by the number of devices, the volume of production or the value of money circulating through the economy. We also ask whether people have time for their children, friends, neighbours and themselves.

New Earth must not produce increasingly lonely people surrounded by increasingly sophisticated objects. Technology and the organisation of work should help us reclaim the time needed to live.

The economy should serve life

Today’s economy often treats growth as success even when its cost is exhausted people, wasted materials or destroyed nature. Research into planetary boundaries shows that many of the processes supporting the stability of Earth’s systems are under severe pressure. We cannot increase resource consumption indefinitely on a planet with physical limits.

At the same time, reducing consumption cannot mean taking basic living conditions away from people who still do not have them. A helpful framework here is Doughnut Economics: between a social foundation and an ecological ceiling lies a safe and just space for humanity. Below it are hunger and a lack of housing, education and care. Above it begins the destruction of the systems on which we all depend.

New Earth seeks a way to leave no one below the social foundation while remaining within the planet’s ecological capacity.

That is why we design things to be durable, repairable and capable of improvement. A car, computer, washing machine or tool should not become waste simply because a sales model requires another purchase. Companies can still earn money, develop and create jobs, but their success should be connected to real value: product durability, quality of work, people’s safety and their effect on the world around them.

Real progress does not consist in reproducing the same problem forever. It consists in solving it so well that the resources, knowledge and time we recover can be devoted to the next necessary step.

Technology should give people back time and possibilities

In the vision of New Earth, automation, robotics and artificial intelligence do not exist only to increase the number of tasks or control workers. They should take over work that is heavy, dangerous and repetitive. The benefit of a more efficient machine should not be greater profit alone, but also shorter working hours, safer conditions and more space for life.

AI can help connect needs with available resources. Where is there a vacant home? Which workshop can make a missing part? Who needs transport, care or education, and who is able to help? How can responsibilities be distributed without constantly overburdening the same people? A well-designed system can translate scattered knowledge into concrete action.

Technology must not, however, become a digital ruler. Important decisions must be understandable and open to examination and challenge. People should know what data is being used and retain a genuine choice. Basic support must not depend on unlimited surveillance, the evaluation of beliefs or constant internet access.

A person may use AI extensively, choose only certain applications or live more offline. The community must not disappear for someone who turns off a screen.

Our most creative vision includes local workshops producing parts, furniture and elements of homes; machines helping to regenerate soil and water; and cities in which advanced technology coexists with living nature. This is a design and artistic horizon, not a description of solutions that are already widely available. Its value lies in giving direction to research, projects and everyday decisions.

Earth is our shared home

New Earth does not require us to abandon our language, culture, history or place of origin. We can deeply love our own country while recognising that a person born on the other side of a border is no less valuable.

Diversity does not have to lead to conquest or uniformity. Communities can preserve local self-government, customs and their own solutions while cooperating on matters that cannot be confined within the borders of a single city or country: protecting the climate, water, oceans and peace, supporting health, and developing technology responsibly.

In New Earth, the knowledge, materials and organisational capacity currently devoted to destroying life gradually begin to serve its protection. We imagine a world in which weapons lose their significance, while metal, energy, factories and human ingenuity are redirected towards building homes, schools, hospitals, water purification systems and tools that communities need.

This does not mean pretending that threats do not exist. Peace needs protection, law, mediation, transparent rules and people willing to stand beside someone who is being harmed. Strength, however, should protect life rather than create another generation of enemies. The goal is not the victory of one nation over another. The goal is a way of resolving disputes in which one human being does not have to kill another in order to be heard.

Freedom is joined with responsibility

New Earth is not a world without rules. Freedom does not give anyone the right to use violence, deceive others, destroy shared resources or shift every responsibility onto other people.

We need rules that are clear, proportionate and open to improvement, created with the genuine participation of the people they affect. Local communities can manage shared resources effectively when they jointly establish appropriate rules, observe how those rules work and resolve conflicts as they arise. There are other possibilities between complete control from above and total chaos.

Everyone who can contribute does so. That contribution will not be identical for everyone, because our health, age, family situation and abilities differ. A person who needs help does not lose their dignity. A person able to act should not build their own comfort upon the permanent exploitation of others.

Free will also means the right not to accept our vision. We do not need to convert, humiliate or force anyone to live according to a single model. We can demonstrate working solutions, share knowledge and invite people to cooperate. At the same time, we have the right to protect shared spaces from violence, manipulation and the removal of other people’s freedom.

Two timelines and two egregores are the language of our vision

At New Earth Studio, we sometimes use the expressions “two timelines” and “two egregores”. This is spiritual and creative language describing two different directions for organising attention, emotion and action.

The old timeline reproduces fear, scarcity, rivalry, control and the belief that one person’s safety requires another person’s powerlessness. The new timeline develops through awareness, responsibility, cooperation, creativity and solutions that serve life.

We do not present an egregore or a timeline as a scientifically confirmed mechanism. These ideas are metaphors that help us ask a practical question: what pattern am I strengthening through my attention and action?

New Earth does not arise in opposition to a particular person, group or system. It can say a clear “no” to war, violence, lies and exploitation, but its identity does not depend on the existence of an enemy. After recognising a problem and taking the necessary protective action, we return to what we are building.

We explore this principle in detail in a separate piece, “Creating Instead of Fighting”. Here, the central distinction is enough: New Earth knows what it says “yes” to, not only what it says “no” to.

New Earth begins right now

We will not build an entirely new civilisation through one project. We can, however, create one durable product, one well-designed home, one community that shares responsibilities honestly, or one support system that truly responds to a human need. We can repair an object instead of discarding it, share knowledge, support a local initiative, make time for a conversation or design technology that respects people.

Every such action is a small part of a greater direction. It does not have to be perfect. It must be real, open to verification and ready to be improved.

New Earth is not one compulsory aesthetic, religion or ideology. We do not all have to imagine future cities, work, technology or spirituality in the same way. The basic values remain shared: the protection of life, human dignity, freedom joined with responsibility, truth, cooperation and the courage to create better solutions.

We do not wait for someone to announce the arrival of New Earth. We do not surrender the future to prophecies or to people who tell us that everything has already been decided. We, as human beings, make the decisions that increase the likelihood of a particular future.

New Earth begins when vision stops being merely an image in the mind and becomes a way of treating people, designing things, sharing resources and making decisions.

It will not arrive ready-made. We must create it consciously.

And that is exactly what we are doing.
